About me

|
I started running because I was fat and needed to lose weight.

It seemed like the simplest form of exercise at the time, all I had to do was put one foot in front of the other, I was lucky enough to come across the couch to 5k plan from coolrunning.com and Podcasts for running from Robert Ullery, without them I'd probably still be on my couch.

After a few starts and stops I eventually finished the plan and fell in love with running, I now run 4-5 times a week and I'm a back of the pack runner with John "the penguin" Bingham as my hero, I'm a proud penguin.

I started running at 215lbs and my weight is now in the 140lbs range, I attribute my weight loss to a combination of running and eating less, I learnt the hard way that running and eating like a horse does not equal weight loss!

This blog was initially to chronicle my couch to 5k progress now I write somewhat sporadically about running, weight loss and whatever else comes to mind, As most visitors to my blog come here from a couch to 5k search I've created a page with all my couch to 5k posts here.

The miracle isn't that I finished, the miracle is that I had the courage to start - John Bingham
